42-32076 /Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby (BO)	91th BG, 401st BS	29/05/1944	Stationiert bei der 91st Bomb Group, 401st BS, in Bassingbourn, England; benannt nach einem Song von Glenn Miller, erste Mission am 24.03.1944 nach Frankfurt, Deutschland, letzte Mission am 29.05.1944 nach Posen, Polen. Motorprobleme erzwangen eine Landung im neutralen Schweden, Crew und Maschine wurden interniert. Die B17 flog insgesamt 24 Kampfeinsätze und wurde dabei sieben Mal von der Flak beschädigt. Im Oktober 1945 wurde die B17 von den Schweden für Testflüge bei SAAB eingesetzt. Später nutzten Danish Air Lines ( 1947), Danish Army (1948), Danish Navy (1949 - 1952), Royal Danish Air Force (1952) und das French National Geographic Institute (1955-1961) das Flugzeug. 1968 wurde die 42-32076 verlassen in Frankreich aufgefunden und von der frz. Regierung an die USAF übergeben, 1978 brachte der 512th Military Airlift Wing die Maschine zur Dover Air Force Base, Del. zur Restauration durch Freiwillige der 512th Antique Restoration Group. 10 Jahre später war die B17 wieder flugfähig und wurde im Oktober 1988 ins National Museum der USAF (Wright Patterson AFB), nahe Dayton, Ohio geflogen, wo sie seit dem ausgestellt wird. Stationed by the 91st Bomb Group, 401st BS, at Bassingbourn, England, named after a popular Glenn Miller Song, first mission (Frankfurt, Germany) on March 24, 1944, , last mission (Posen, Poland) on May 29, 1944. Engine problems forced a landing in neutral Sweden. The crew and the airplane were interned. The Plane flew 24 combat missions, receiving flak damage seven times. In October 1945, the Plane was used by SAAB for Testflights. Later the Plane was used by Danish Air Lines ( 1947), Danish Army (1948), Danish Navy (1949 - 1952), Royal Danish Air Force (1952) and the French National Geographic Institute (1955-1961). In 1968 the Plane was found abandoned in France; the French government presented the plane to the USAF. In July 1978 the 512th Military Airlift Wing moved it to Dover Air Force Base, Del., for restoration by the volunteers of the 512th Antique Restoration Group. The 10-year job of restoration to flying condition was completed in 1988, and the aircraft was flown to the National Museum of the USAF (Wright Patterson AFB), near Dayton, Ohio in October 1988, where it remains on display.	---
